TEACHING FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE
The process of undergraduate teaching takes place in the outpatient clinic and the inpatient department where 4 separate halls (air-conditioned and equipped with projectors and computers) are used. The students of the fourth year of the undergraduate program attend the clinical rounds in the department in 16 groups. In addition, through the year lectures are given every Sunday and tusday in the undergraduate faculty hall. Modern methods of teaching are used including power point presentations and audio-visual methods. A student log book was developed in the department including all about the ENT course specifications. It’s distributed to the students and was used to distribute the knowledge about what are the activities required from the students. It was also used as a tool for ascertaining students’ attendance of the clinical rounds. Small group teaching has helped a lot in the teaching process as reflected on student's satisfaction in the student's evaluation questionnaire.
POSTGRADUATE TEACHING
The process of postgraduate teaching takes place regularly in the inpatient department where grand rounds are given in the postgraduate teaching halls. All the department professors share in these grand rounds. A logbook for the postgraduates was also developed in the department. It includes all the necessary requirements of the postgraduate which should be fulfilled before being legible to attend the final exam. The department offers the Diploma, the master and doctoral degrees.
