Within the framework of the initiative of His Excellency the President of the Republic "A New Beginning for Building the Human Being", Zagazig University organized today, Saturday 10/19/2024, a comprehensive medical awareness convoy for the village of Bahniya in Dirb Negm Center, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled El-Drandali, President of the University, and Dr. Jihan Youssef, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in cooperation with the "Decent Life" Foundation and the Health and Veterinary Medicine Directorates in the Governorate.
The convoy was accompanied by doctors and professors from the Faculty of Medicine under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Anani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Health Policies, and Dr. Amal Atta, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. 490 cases were examined in many medical specialties (internal medicine, liver, digestive system, heart and chest, bones, rheumatism, dermatology, pediatrics, nose and ear, tumors, and family medicine), and six cases were transferred to Zagazig University Hospitals.
Dr. Khaled Al-Drandali, in fruitful cooperation with various parties to implement the "New Beginning" initiative, stressing that the university continues its efforts to support villages and rural areas by sending comprehensive development convoys that include multiple specializations to achieve the goals of the President's initiative in the field of human development.
For her part, Dr. Jihan Youssef, Vice President of the University, pointed out what the convoy provided in terms of awareness programs and seminars in several fields, as family medicine doctors held an awareness seminar on urinary tract infections, especially in the winter, and ways to prevent them, and a team from the Health Directorate measured blood pressure, sugar, and kidney disease.
Dr. Jihan Yousry added: "The Faculty of Specific Education held a workshop on methods of making jewelry and beadwork as one of the small projects that generate income for the Egyptian family. Professors from the Faculty of Law also held a seminar on economic awareness and the crises facing the state, and presented another seminar on the types of authorities within the state and cultural organization. The professors also discussed all legal inquiries related to individuals, in addition to professors from the Faculty of Agriculture holding an awareness seminar on how to benefit from aromatic and ordinary plants in treating some medical conditions. The Vice President of the University added: "The family planning car examined the women of the village and dispensed free treatment to them, in addition to the Veterinary Medicine Directorate examining the animals and dispensing their free treatment as well as administering the animals' vaccinations.
It is worth noting that the convoy's activities were organized by Mr. Mahmoud Nasr, Director General of Projects Administration, and a number of employees in the sector. The convoy concluded its activities amidst welcome, appreciation, satisfaction, and turnout from the residents who praised the medical and awareness services provided.
