Within the framework of the "New Beginning for Human Development" initiative launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Zagazig University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organized an integrated medical and awareness convoy to the village of Al-Taleen, Minya Al-Qamh Center, Sharqia Governorate, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Al-Darandali, President of the University, and Dr. Jihan Youssef, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The convoy was accompanied by an elite group of doctors and professors of the Faculty of Medicine, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Anani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Health Policies, and Dr. Amal Atta, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The convoy provided its medical services to more than 1,150 cases, with 15 cases transferred to complete treatment at Zagazig University Hospitals in various specialties, including internal medicine, chest, orthopedics, dermatology, pediatrics, ear, nose and throat, breast tumors, and dentistry.
Comprehensive efforts in awareness and health services
The convoy was keen to provide health awareness services and comprehensive medical examinations, as the Faculty of Medicine launched a campaign for early detection of breast tumors, explaining how to self-examine women to prevent the risks of this disease. The Faculty of Nursing also organized a campaign to detect blood pressure diseases, which included measuring the blood pressure of beneficiaries, raising awareness of the risks of high and low blood pressure, and directing patients to specialized clinics.
The family planning car, in cooperation with the accompanying medical team, examined the village women and dispensed free family planning methods. On the other hand, members of the Anti-Addiction Fund gave awareness lectures on the risks of addiction and drugs, while distributing awareness leaflets warning of their dangers.
In the context of supporting patients, the Faculty of Pharmacy, in cooperation with pharmacists at Zagazig University Hospitals, distributed medicines for free, providing instructions on doses and times of taking the treatment to ensure safe and effective use.
Praise for the efforts and appreciation from the people
Dr. Khaled Al-Darandali praised the fruitful cooperation between the university and various parties to implement the "New Beginning" initiative, stressing that Zagazig University continues its efforts to support villages and rural areas by sending comprehensive development convoys, including multiple medical and awareness specialties, in order to achieve the state's goals in human development.
Dr. Jihan Youssef also confirmed that the convoy presented awareness programs and seminars in several fields, praising the great turnout from the people and their appreciation for the services provided.
It is worth noting that the organization of the convoy's work was supervised by Mr. Mahmoud Nasr, Director General of Projects, with the participation of a number of workers in the sector, and its work concluded amidst a wide welcome from the people, who praised the level of medical and awareness services provided by the convoy.
